Hello Lovelies. TEA TEA TEA! Man do I love
my tea! It reminds me of the phrase “British like a brew”. To be fair I’d agree
with the phrase. But lately its not just your normal Tetley or Typhoos tea you
can have with a glug of milk. There’s such a variety of flavours and different
brands, sometimes I stand there in the aisle thinking “whaaat”!
A lot of teas have a different purpose for
the body. Such as the 30 days challenges that are out there like ‘booteas’ or
even ‘detox teas’. Of course am not saying they don’t work but wanting
something in particular to help your diet can get confusing for an individual
when they’ve never been down that route.
So, today’s blog will include some of the
teas i have including the brand/Flavour. However I’ll also be explaining the
purpose of the tea and also any home remedy teas to have when I make for myself
when I fall ill as well.
Green Tea
Green tea is amazing for the body
especially the digestive system. It removes all the bad toxins from the body as
well as the fact that its only 14 calories a teabag (depending on which brand
you choose to have). Keeping hydrated is key for our bodies. Green tea is 99%
water as the green tea leaves are 100% with no artificial sweeteners. This is
depending again on which brand you choose to have. Usually when making a green
tea it takes about 2-3 minutes to brew to get a good flavour. There are also lots of flavours mixed with
green tea such a jasmine, mint and even mandarin. I usually just put in a
spoonful of honey as my natural sweetener to honey.
Black Tea
Black tea is also really good for the body
as it’s a fat burner. Just having a cup/mug of black tea sounds bitter but you
can always add honey or sugar to your cuppa. This makes it sweeter for people
who have a sweet tooth. It still does the trick.
Herbal Teas
Herbal teas are also a very popular buy.
They come in all different flavours. My favourite as usually the peppermint if
I want something different as it gives me the kickstart for the day with a
small bowl of museli or porridge. Another favourite of mine is strawberry and
mango from the Twinings collection. When this is drank piping hot oh my god,
it’s like having a cup/mug of goodness and it also gives me my first intake of
water for the day as well which is a plus. Of course there are so many out
there but these flavours are just some of my favourites.
Mint tea or Kahwa in Arabic is really nice
if you want something sweet yet suttle to the throat. This can be drank on a
usual day to day basis as well as when you are ill as it helps the throat. I
usually have this again with honey but it can be drank with sugar or nothing at
all. Also, you can make mint tea with just a few sprigs of mint or you can put
your black tea bag to have a stronger flavour.
Masala chai is an Indian version of tea.
This is usually made quite milky and with lots of infused spices that can be
grinded at home or bought in packets. The spices usually contain cinnamon and
other spices and is made with normal teabags, some water and milk. Others tend
to make it 100% milky but depending on how you’d want to make it , the outcome
could vary. Also adding sugar or any type of sweetener would be to someone’s
preference as well.
Honey water is one of the best when you’re
ill. Having a spoonful of honey with boiled kettle water is really good if you
have a flu. Put a small slice of Ginger and you’ve also made yourself a detox
tea! Any honey will do. I usually use organic honey as they don’t have any
artificial sweeteners that would make a flu worse. Ginger can also be bought
from any supermarket, you can either put a slice or just grate some and leave
in the cup/mug to diffuse. Of course depending on how strong you want it, you
could take out the ginger remains from the cup/mug after a few minutes. Or even
better you can get lemon & ginger tea In a teabag, job done.
Lemon Tea
Lemon tea is really good for the body as it
removes toxins and also refreshes the mouth as well as the throat if you’re
ill. Boiled kettle water and a slice of Lemon and you’re done! How easy is
that!?. A slice, wedge or even a squeeze will do the trick, just as long as it
has been diffused in the water for at least 2-3 minutes. This can again be
bought in a teabag as said above in the lemon and ginger teabag which I have
bought from the Twinings brand.
That’s all guys, I hope this blog for today
has inspired you to try out different teas and comment letting me know if you
did and which one you enjoyed the most! Until next time, Take care x x
